One of the reasons I know that baseball is better than all other sports to be a fan of is because any team in the majors could inspire an equally moving, and equally true (for the writer)
story of the greatest playoff series ever. Except for Texas Rangers fans. The Rangers -- and their predecessors, the faux-Senators -- just plain suck.
what about the cubs. Soon noone living will have witnessed their last Series win.

1992- The Pirates' last meaningful game is a loss in game 7 against the Braves as Sid Bream beats the throw. Barry Bonds' last game as a Bucco (when his big head was only metaphorical)
Forget World Series wins, anon, this is about beautiful, dramatic moments in playoff series. The Mets lost the '99 NLCS. The Cubs have had similarly dramatic moments.
