Let's Make A Deal
Bin Laden, inserting himself into our election, makes the following arguments:
Bush is misleading Americans. Even the 2000 election was
fixed.
Part of the problem is Americans and Israelis oppressing the
Palestinians.
The Patriot Act is a form of oppression.
Bush showed he was unfit as Commander in Chief because he didn't leave a bunch of schoolchildren while the towers were being attacked.
America's fight against Iraq, before and after the war, has been immoral, resulting in massive civilian death, especially of children, and only happened so we could steal their oil.
The events of 9/11 were the inevitable answer to American oppression of Muslims. There were plenty of warnings that were ignored.
I think we can work something out. If he voluntarily surrenders, we can get him a work-release job either as a columnist for The Nation or a tenured history professor.

Who cares? Bin Laden is in a box, hiding, with over half his top guys dead, with everyone else on the run, begging America to stop beating him up. Four years ago he had the run of Afghanistan and could do whatever he wanted anywhere in the world.
He was being chased through tortuous terrain housing thousands of miles or well-appointed ratholes that had exits throughout Pakistan; not at all similar to the open shots the Bill Clinton had at him.

Bin Laden's had three years to attack us here. He hasn't done it. That's more important.
Of course we can't forget the strongly Anti-Israel /antisemite plea by Bin Laden. Yeah he could be a history prof.
Definitely a change of tone. from we will take over the world. to please leave us alone (to take over the world).
