A painting done in a somewhat primitive style. Very colorful, very sweet. A woman, possibly African, perhaps pregant, wears a bluish veil against a lively yellow background, while things that look like butterflies flit by. She has a lump of something where her right breast might be, and it's bedecked with jewels. Perhaps this is some sort of fertility painting.

I don't think this is primitive, I think it's pseudo-primitive. The key to the painting isn't the subject, but the mix of colors--that's were the effect comes in.
I would guess full-sized you could see more clearly what the little bits are, and that would effect what you think.
It looks great but smells funny.
Without the title, you'd have no idea who or what it's about.
I would agree with the first comment regarding a pseudo-primitive style. Not to my taste, but trying to see it anew - would suggest pagan fertility symbol.
