Here We Go Again

After last week's infamous loss against (I can barely stand to write this) 1-AA Appalachian State, Michigan can now either have a horrible season or something much worse.

We face the Oregon Ducks today. A week ago, I thought we might have some trouble dispatching them before we got to the tough games. Now I'm wondering how we'll win any games at all.

Amazingly, Michigan is a one-touchdown favorite. How can this be?

Oregon 39, Michigan 7.

And Michigan will be favored next week against pathetic Notre Dame (a game in which the two top-rated freshman Qb's in the land will start).

If Carr, who I believe was going to retire at the end of this year (because he thought he had a shot at the national championship! this year -- which shows just how out-of-touch he has become), placed caring about the university above the concept of 'self', then he would step down now. He should be canned ASAP, regardless of what happens next week or during this season.

Carr is a class act and will do what he thinks is best for Michigan. As far as stepping down now, there's not much point to it. For one thing, the season is ruined already, no matter what happens. Second, at best, they could only name an interim coach anyway, since anyone they'd want to keep has a job right now.

Evidence no doubt of a half-century fluke
