Yikes
Larry King recently had a panel of doctors discussing the pros and cons of plastic surgery. I'm assuming this is because Kanye West's mother just died due to complications of a "cosmetic surgical procedure." I didn't stick around long, but I did hear one doctor, trying to reassure the public, say things work out "nine out of ten times."

That's reminiscent of when in our first year of law school our Contracts professor asked the class: "Do you think very many securities sales go awry? They depend on good will, essentially, as the customer gives the order verbally, and the agent has to effect the sale. How many do you think fail?" (Obviously intending to suggest a small number.) When he asked a first year student on the first day of class, that student answered with the off-the-cuff seemingly small number of "1%." The professor called the poor kid "One-percent Anderson" (not his real name) for the rest of the year after pointing out that a 1% failure rate would actually be astronomically high and would undermine faith in the system.
Who was your law professor, John Houseman?
AAGuy
Richard Epstein.
Same difference.
