McCain Has Failed

According to the latest Rasmussen poll, "voters currently trust John McCain more than Barack Obama on issues of National Security, the War in Iraq, the Economy, and Taxes. Obama is trusted more when it comes to Reducing Government Corruption."

I can hear the gnashing of teeth in the McCain camp already. McCain would trade everything else to have clean government. As he himself put it, "I would rather have a clean government than one where quote First Amendment rights are being respected."

Better luck next time, John .

While polls have largely proven useless, if those numbers are true, he's doing pretty well- I assume the reducing government corruption number was affected by pictures of the Homer City Hussy and his ringing defense of lobbyists during the polling period.

Given the Obamaphenomena, I could see polls though where McCain beats Obama in all those categories but Obama comes out ahead in the general preference. 2008 right now looks like the "Feelings" election.

The reason Obama beats him in this category is because he's all shiny and new so the people figure he can be the mamn on the horse who comes into town and fights corruption, not the insider McCain. Makes sense? No. But this is the electorate.
