Aging Well
Clicking through the channels yesterday, I caught a glimpse of Can't Buy Me Love, a forgettable comedy from the late 80s. What struck me was the lead, Patrick Dempsey, playing--no two ways about it--a nerd.
How is it this guy who in his twenties was not exactly considered Brad Pitt has somehow, in his forties, blossomed into a heartthrob? (Meanwhile, Amanda Peterson, the hot chick in the film, has disappeared.)

Hey I just saw "Knocked Up" over the weekend (yes I am way behind on movies) and this sounds like the line from the bitchy and hot older sister character complaining that as they get in their 30s and 40s, her husband can only look better and she can only look worse- I guess that could be true, except for when it isn't and I think you have to be skinny and rich (or rich-looking) for it to apply.
Two words: nose job.
