I wish I could comment but I don't get this sport- the Penguins looked like a team of destiny peaking at the right time and barreling through the playoffs until the finals when they weren't.
The Western Conference was far superior to the east, so Pittsburgh was getting fat on crapola. I thought that the Wings drew some easy opponents (not having to face Anaheim or San Jose) along the way and that Pittsburgh looked to be the better team going in, but strength of schedule was telling; not to mention experience, seasoning, and overall better puck control from top to bottom.
Better behavior in Detroit this year as opposed to 84 Tigers and other celebrations. 4 of the last 10 Cups have resided in Detroit -- and if the Lakers win this series then, they would have 4 championships in the last 8 years...
As a transplanted Pittsburgher living in New England I am getting spoiled - each of the last four major championships had one of my 7 teams (Pgh has no basketball team) even though I'm now 1-2 in the finals

EZ New England Guy,
