Maybe they married younger women. (Two or three in a row, for all we know.) And the guy the suicide landed on had it coming.
And, by the way, the clip is very funny. Not sure my first comment made that clear.

Alan King is funny but at his heart he seems to be a really mean SOB who hates humanity - maybe thats what makes him funny
That was King's shtick. He was always complaining about something: the airlines, his family, the government, etc.
And he always made it hilarious.
