Little Brown Jug Winners

I don't know how to respond to the Michigan football season. I guess I'm glad it's over, but that's not the point. I've torn out my hair before when they screwed up, or didn't play as well as they should, but this season they were nothing. They broke just about every team record for futility. They might as well have been Northwestern. The offense was completely useless and the defense wasn't much better. And special teams, where coaching really counts, didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Coach Rod may be rebuilding, but no one thought the team would collapse like this--it hasn't in 40 years (or ever, really), even during rebuilding seasons. He gets another year, I guess, to turn things around. Maybe another two years. But if he couldn't go .500 with decent players and a weak schedule, what should give us hope for the future?

Hey, Northwestern went 9-3 this year!

He did a lousy job with the defense and special teams. The defense has a certain five future NFL'ers and possibly more. His QB situation was bad, but Richie already has two major recruits coming in. Had he landed (OSU's) Pryor, then they would have been much better.

Had Lloyd left before last year (and Appalachain State, remember?) then U-M would have had a different coach, but L.C. does not like Urban Meyer -- that guy who might win his second national championship with UFla. this year, so they R where they R.

Another dismal year for the Little10 with the Big12 catching the SEC this year in terms of topdawg status.

Might the Lions really do it??

Check that -- I didn't mean Urban Meyer, I mean Les Miles or maybe even a guy like Brady Hoke, who just finished an undefeated season at Ball State.
