All Things Must Pass

Harry Knowles did a great thing in 1996 when he created Ain't It Cool News, a fun place for fanboys to hang out and hear the latest. There were just two problems with the Head Geek--he had no taste and he couldn't write.

Luckily, others who had those bases covered soon became regulars. None were better than Drew McWeeny, aka "Moriarity." Here was a guy writing more interesting stuff than you generally saw from paid journalists. And now, in his Benjamin Button review, he announces he's leaving AICN to join Hitfix.com. It won't be the same without you, Moriarty.

Thanks for the link LA guy- went to it and stumbled across the "A Movie A Day" column which today dealt with the seminal "Sentinel" on of my all time favorite bad devil horror movies from the mid 70s (I even read the novel or novelization- can't tell, it differed slightly from the film).

I always learn from these things-I had thought in the creepy final scene one of the mob of the damned included an actor with what looked like male genitalia attached to his face (beans not franks). I thought this was some comment on the horrible, bloody & truly filthy sexuality of the flic. Now I found out that the director hired face cancer victims and other physical freaks. Unfortunately a very effectively disturbing scene
