"You couldn’t have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances [at ‘60 Minutes’] and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.”
A closer approximation to today's situation might be the President gets three plans, the liberal one, the centrist one and the conservative one, and says "I'll read all three closely before I choose the liberal one."
I know both sides can be self-serving, but I have to believe that if a Democratic administration had left the country in the abyss we are facing, the Democrats would have the sense to be a little bit cowed. And maybe to wonder whether someone else might have some good ideas. And even willing to give them a try. I'm not saying I know what will work -- no one does right now. But trying something seems like a good idea. Could you crawl in your cave and lick your wounds for a few years?
What ideas? First, this problem goes back a long way, including before the last two years of a Dem-run Congress. Still, the bailout idea was tried last year, and we're just doing it more. Second, this just adds to the problem, it's not a new idea. Third, what's especially not new are the specific programs--just turning to clock back, returning us to the failed programs and policies that the Democrats have been pining away for since they lost total power.

Whiners. You had eight years. Could you give him eight months before you start complaining?
I'd give him eight months if he hadn't decided to immediately pass 20 years of liberal programs in one fell swoop with no debate.

Well, now the Republicans have lost total power. And we can see what you're pining for.
