I saw something new yesterday in a public restroom, and I must say I approve. A dual
-flush toilet. Up for liquid waste, down for solid. I assume it's a water-saving device. (On the other hand, I still have a lot of trouble with low flow toilets that back up a lot.)
More-than-you-want-to-know Department:
ReplyDeleteIn the waste management industry, solid waste doesn't mean what you described (and what most people think). It's all just "sewage". (you don't spend time on wastewater plant financing without learning a thing or two)
Maybe next time you should stick with the correct technical term: Number Two
I was just using the terms on the toilet itself, so don't blame me.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't blaming -just reminded of a meeting where a new development required a both a wastewater facility and solid waste facility to be built. I was new to this and confused and wondered aloud how the pipes knew which facility to send the waste to....
ReplyDeleteApparently I was quite the joke at the next annual waste processors meeting.
I saw this for the first time when out on your coast last month, LAGuy. It was at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I'll confess I pushed them each in turn, just to check that there was no noticeable difference from the end user's (ahem) perspective.
