Same Day As The Parade

I could swear they played a football game in the Rose Bowl just a few days ago, on Thursday. Why would anyone want to play a football game in the Rose Bowl on the 7th? I mean, you'd think they hardly had time to clean up after the 1st, which everyone knows is the only day the true Rose Bowl game is supposed to be played.
