The Leader Of The Club
I saw Mickey Kaus a little while ago and he mentioned he was working out a deal for his blog, and now I see he's landed at Newsweek. Good for him, and good for them. During Mickey's campaign for Barbara Boxer's Senate seat, he was essentially hors de combat in the blog wars. Good to have him back.

Newsweek will enforce their dullness policy so don't expect to hear much from the 5 percenter
No, Newsweek USED to be dull, now it's partisan and fun.
I thought Newsweek was on the verge of folding?
Au contraire- Newsweek was exciting when it was simply dull. If its partisan, its hard to tell only because its hard to get through the first paragraph of most columns. Whoever thought- lets get rid of the pictures and colors and graphs and replace them with long-winded essays by middlebrow nobodies. Shocked that didn't reverse the decline in subscription
Denver Guy: Newsweek has been in trouble for a while, like much of the print media. In the internet age, a weekly digest of what's going on seems outdated.
So Newsweek decided not too long ago to be less a news magazine and more a journal of opinion. This didn't help slow the drop in readership--probably increased it. It was recently put up for sale, and they decided to go with an offer of one dollar from a guy who wouldn't change the new political slant. Many think he overpaid.
And even better news, Jon Klein who we credit for the name of this website is gone at CNN.
Thanks for noting it. I don't suppose I'll blog about it separately--the Klein attitude is still widespread in the media.
