The Side That Counts

Happy Labor Day..  Back in law school, I was fairly intrigued by labor law.  (I remember the classic trick question on an exam was to ask about the railroads, since they were not covered by the National Labor Relations Act.)

I recall interviewing at a well known labor firm.  They asked me if I would have any trouble representing management. I said  "well, we have an adversarial system, and I believe every client deserves the best representation I can give them." I figured that was what they wanted to hear.  Of course, what I was thinking was "I don't give a shit as long as their checks clear."
