His Name Was Earl
Bluegrass banjo player extraordinaire Earl Scruggs has died. He was best known for his work with guitar player Lester Flatt, and their best-known number was "Foggy Mountain Breakdown."

They were great on The Beverly Hillbillies.
OK but it annoyed me on the Beverly Hillbillies that they were presented as some famous dudes whom we all should know. I sort of like their fiddlin and diddlin but whenever they showed up at the Clampetts (within the show that is, the theme song was iconic), I always thought the show came to screeching halt.
