Hold 'Em Harry

Today is Harry Belafonte's 85th birthday.  It's hard to overstate how popular his music was.  His Calypso album in 1956 was #1 for 31 weeks. Belafonte At Carnegie Hall, released in 1959, was on the charts for over 3 years.

When I was a kid we had this scratchy old album of his which I played endlessly.  I don't even remember the name (was the cover still there?--I know at least we had the dust jacket). But I remember the music.  Selections included "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" and "I Met Her In Venezuela." But my favorite was "Hold 'em Joe."
