Future Shock

The latest Rolling Stone has a piece on Detropia, a documentary (that I haven't yet seen) about how my home town is collapsing.  I can't link to it directly, but here's how it starts:

Want a glimpse of what the Republican vision for downsizing government could mean for America's cities?  You could do a lot worse than visit Detroit.

Wow.  You gotta work pretty hard to look at a city that's been controlled by Democrats for fifty years and turn it into a warning about Republicans.

And how long has Michigan been a solid blue state?

This reflects the left's attitude that Republicans want ruin and destruction for large liberal cities. To this day, Rugy Giuliani gets virtually no credit in the media for reviving MYC's downtown areas.

Somehow, when there are riots in LA, it's because of Republicans, even though Republicans haven't had any meaningful control in decades in that city or state. Ah, but they will say it's all Prop 13's fault.

After you analyze Rolling Stone's political journalism, I suppose you take your shotgun to go fishing at the round wooden aquarium.

When the entertainment industry speaks, you get entertainment

Rolling Stone has long been known for its political journalism. It's just been pretty silly as of late.

I think the phrase you're looking for is "Democrat Party Hacks with Press Credentials".
