That's Debatable
A quick note on the first Presidential debate. Following a long tradition, I didn't watch it. If anything important was said, it'll be repeated.
Anyway, from what I could glean, it was a win for Romney. So that's that.

Romney was going for the win. Obama was trying not to lose.
I violated my tradition and did watch the debate. I think it was the first time since the Mr. Ponytail debate, where the guy asked HW and BC to "think of us as your children" in answering the question, and HW obliged him instead of picking up a cane and beating him to death.
And it wasn't painful.
I saw the last half hour after I got home. I was pleasantly surprised. Romney was himself, but Obama was clearly uncomfortable. I don't know why - Jim Lehrer was on his side.
Of course Obama looked uncomfortable. He had to defend a lousy record, and this wasn't an ad or a speech filled with supporters, but a forum with an opponent who'd call him on anything he said.
