Making me nervous
Not sure how much credence I give this.
"When men and women are exclusively in the company of their own sex, for women it's often liberating; for men it's often anxiety-inducing."
I thought the idea was that when a woman walked into a room, every man looked at her, and so did every woman?

Well the article was primarily about toilets not other presumably less icky places where the genders congregate. An important distinction I believe.
I suppose that's a fair point, though I admit I thought the statement was made in a broader context. In that case I can understand men's anxiety, but I'm not sure why women would feel liberated by the presence of other women . . . although if the comparison point is men in the bathroom with them for purposes other than, you know, invitation, then I'm not quite sure it's a fair distinction.
So, I'm not sure I'm quite ready to concede your reading.
