So, federal judge Charlie Wilson thinks doctors have a First Amendment right to proselytize in the course of medical service.

Somehow I'm thinking he's not so solicitous of patients' First Amendment rights, or their Second.

In fact, I'd guess he'd find the First Amendment is actually reason to uphold Obamacare--you have a right to associate with the doctors and "insurance" "companies" the government tells you you do.

I hadn't heard about this issue. I can't imagine there are tons of doctors discriminating against patients who own guns, but those that do should be allowed to do so, imho.

The statute, of course, seems a ridiculous response to what can't be more than a few cases. Absent the law, maybe we'll get competing groups of doctors (pro and anti 2nd Amendment), and we'll see which group does better.

Having reached the age where I started getting invites, I have chosen to join AMAC as opposed to AARP to get my "Sr. Citizen Card". AARP is too political for my tastes, though AMAC is just as bad in the other direction. I wish there was an organization that just focused on the immediate needs of folks over 50. For that matter, I wish there was an alternative to the ABA that didn't take political sides (maybe I would join that one).

You're too credulous, DG. This will become regulatory mandate before you can say lickspittle!
