In yesterday's LA Times, the front-page story dealing with the shootings in Garland, Texas had a headline that began "Two Extremes Collide..."
The paper has become beyond parody.

Is LATimes Gannett? I'm not certain that's the same story. Pretty remarkable, well predictable, if it's merely part of the anti-American narrative promoted by Americans. The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

Well people don't have abortions for the express purpose of provoking violent responses generally. Did we think Pam Geller's group were art lovers?
Last anonymous, I hardly know where to begin. To simplify, let's leave aside the differences between the activity of drawing pictures for whatever reason and the activity of ending potential life for whatever reason, and just note that it is morally monstrous to put on the same level those who make art even if they know it will be highly provocative with this who kill such people.
"even if they know it will be highly provocative" kind of understates it. They are deliberately provoking a response and got what they wanted (especially since the other group got killed).
They had every right to do what they did but not so sure it was helpful or wise
Once again, where to start?
First, even if someone knows what they're drawing is done to provoke a response, this is still not even close or comparable in any way to those who decide to kill them for it.
Second, no matter what the intention of the people doing the drawing, the other side are insane, vicious murderers for being provoked--the main thing we should take away is they're wrong for being provoked into such action. (Don't get me wrong, in the long run, we can discuss and analyze all parts of an issue--for instance, if abortion opponents decides to act like these terrorists and regularly bomb abortion clinics, we could note along the way that they see each clinic opening as a provocation, and we have to expect that bombings are a somewhat predictable result every time a new one is opened; but after each bombing, the proper headline is not one that tries to create equivalence among the bombers and those that provoked them.)
We can argue on another day if it's wise or not to stand up to people who are trying to destroy your basic freedom The point is headlines that treat the people in this issue as two sides of the same coin are an outrage.
That's *your* main point. Anonymous hasn't gone too far off the rails, but--as the article you cited demonstrates--there is a shockingly large contingent, in this case on the left--that feels while violence is regrettable, sort of like bad weather, the real outrage is Pam Geller.
It's essentially the same dynamic as the recent Natalie Portman article, where she's outraged by Netanyahu. Yes, she does feel some unease as a Jew living in Paris, but--she says this--she'd feel unease too as a Muslim just about anywhere in the world (okay, many places in the world). I guess I agree with her on this last one--If I were a Muslim exercising free speech anywhere in the world, I'd be fearful of Muslims coming to cut my head off.
