You're going to need a bigger hammer
It’s like taking a hammer and pounding into a dam, at some point we’re going to see some water.
I gather this is John's appeal to environmentalists. He might be better off talking to the Corps of Engineers (Simile Division).
(Seriously, though, doesn't that just sound like a Democrat policy? No nexus with reality whatever. I wouldn't have thought it possible, but the logic is even worse than his signature policy, JobsOhio. It's often true that the worst thing you can do to someone is quote them.)

I liked this quote:
"Everybody wants an authentic candidate until they have one." I guess I see your point in opposing him for the top spot - he just says unfortunate things. He must think he is funnier than he is.
Still I long for authenticity - a politician who does what he thinks is right, says what he believes. I give him points for taking Fed. money for Obamacare - why not take free money (unless teh future cost outweighs the current benefit)?
The media will eventually rip him apart, so probably he can't lead the ticket. But I still think he would be a good VP pick. And authentic guy, instead of a hatchet man, could be useful to say things that have to be said, but not by the President. And I keep hoping his name on the ticket will help secure Ohio.
So Rubio - perhaps the most well spoken of the bunch - and he can say it in Spanish as well - should lead the ticket? Besides the drink of water during a Republican response, he has few flubs so far. And that one he is turning into an endearment with the help of Trump. I think he should have a bottle of Trump water on his podium during the next debate.
After Rubio I can look at Ben Carson and Carly Forina - I just don't know if they are for real yet. But Kasich could be the VP to any of them.
Sorry DG- if you admit you think that Carson is a legitimate candidate in any way, you can't really be taken seriously
Right, anonymous, right. Vote for Hillary with a clear conscience. No use wasting energy or thought on any of it.
DG, my objections to Kasich have nothing to do with any clumsiness. It's entirely his intentions. He's a loose cannon. Too bad he can't admit to himself he identifies as a Democrat, then maybe anonymous would suffer less dissonance.
The best hope for the right is Hillary. It's a win-win for everyone.
As to who takes the Republican ticket, it seems up for grabs. I still doubt Carson can hang on, but I'd be delighted if he did. For me only Cruz has real legitimacy. Somebody wrote today he expected it to be a Cruz Rubio ticket, which would delight me. The New York Times would spend sixteen years howling how Republicans hate Hispanics.
How can anyone be delighted if Carson hangs on? He has no qualifications to be President.
