We Still Have An LP Left
Keith Emerson, the E of ELP, has died. (Only March, and it's already one of the worst years for rock deaths in memory.) It made sense he was the first letter, since his keyboards were the signature sound of the band.

Very sad!
For the last two decades, whenever Emerson or Lake planned a concert or a tour, there was at least a 50% chance that it would be canceled due to Emerson's carpal tunnel problems or Lake being sick. Even so, I managed to see ELP on their last tour (1998), and Emerson & Lake in a scaled-down tour of small venues in 2010 (having shown up for the same concert a year earlier only to have it cancelled on 90 minutes notice.)
ELP's progressive rock was primarily a result of rock/classical fusion, but the "Second Impression" is almost pure jazz, and truly amazing: link.
