5 Comments:
Since I know almost nothing about TV and movies, I'll go first because my answers won't sway anyone else's opinion!
1. Julia LD.
2. L.A. Law, because it was awful.
3. Is this possible? I'll have to guess Amy Poehler or Tina Fey.
4. Brad Pitt, because he's the only one my generation and I don't recall him being on TV ever. Probably wrong, but the alternative is a random guess.
5. No idea. I'll guess The West Wing, and I have no idea what network it was on.
6. I don't know, but whoever it was, shouldn't they have given her the darn Emmy after ten nominations? I'll guess Candice Bergen, but I have no idea. Or is Jean Stapledon still alive?
7. Neil Patrick Harris.
8. No idea.
9. Gilda Radner. The women of the first cast got no respect. (I was tempted to say Chevy, since he was only on for one season -- I think -- so maybe he missed it.)
10. Someone from Hogan's Heroes? Okay, I didn't think so.
Sorry for wasting your time!
Julia, LALaw, Louis ck, Brad Pitt, no clue, Betty White, Billy, no clue, Chevy, no clue.
All will be revealed tomorrow.
You'll see the answers soon enough, but a few notes on the guesses.
Larry is right on question two, though for the wrong reason, as far as the Emmys are concerned.
Brad Pitt is not the correct answer, but it's a bit of a cheat he's one of the choices, since he won his Emmy for producing The Normal Heart. He was nominated for an acting Emmy for his work on Friends, though. Pitt also won his only Oscar for producing 12 Years A Slave.
West Wing (on NBC) was a good guess, since it won a bunch of Emmys for best drama. But it wasn't the last network show to do it. Since then, Lost won in 2005 and the correct answer came the year after.
Candice Bergen and Jean Stapleton are both multiple Emmy winners. Jean Stapleton died at the age of 90 in 2013. Candice Bergen is still very much with us but only 71.
Whether that was a guess or a joke on question 10, congratulations.
Oh, steal my sunshine. I was going to guess Pitt for Friends.
