Constant Enemy

In the LA Times review of the well-received The Constant Gardener, Kenneth Turan calls the film "an unusually meaty thriller" since it's concerned with "the unhealthy influence of multinational corporations." I suppose that's worth noting. I'd guess only two out of three thrillers these days make multinational corporations the bad guys.

Roger Ebert ends his four-star review with "Its closing scenes are as cynical about international politics and commerce as I can imagine. I would like to believe they are an exaggeration, but I fear they are not. " This is the kind of knowing attitude one has if all one knows are movies.

For some reason, this post has been spammed--by humans or bots I know not. I removed about half the messages, but kept the rest up just to give you a feel for what was there, if you're curious.
