Kong Gong
My goodness, LAGuy, why didn't you warn us? Kong is atrocious. Stanford neurologists might want to study Jackson's brain, to see what he was thinking when he included the ice skating scene. He could have done a tragedy, but went for unfunny farce instead.
And you have to wonder, while I might have welcomed a Jackson statement against political correctness, still, is it wise or worthwhile to pull from the 1930's movie the black native, sultry blonde trope? What exactly was authentic about that?
The only thing I liked about the movie was its straightforward facing up to the question, Are all blondes alike, or can one be special?
All in all, too long, too silly, too loose.
(BTW: Kudos to Merian Cooper. 1933 was a good year for him.)
