Someone just gave me a copy of The Da Vinci Code. I generally don't read present-day novels, but I glanced through it.
On page 8 of the Special Illustrated Edition, I found this: "...a dubious honor that made him the brunt of ribbing...." You can be the butt of a joke, but you bear the brunt of ribbing. At least that's what I've always been taught.
This is a best seller?

So did that mistake make you stop reading at page 8?
I'm not that strict. What surprises me is neither are they.
Editors are getting worse and worse, in books and in newspapers.
I'll be curious to see your reactions to the DVC when you're done. The media likes to portray it as "Christians don't like this book," but of course every art historian on the planet hates the book at least as much as offended Christians do....
