"You couldn’t have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances [at ‘60 Minutes’] and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.”
Funny thing is I read this piece--which is essentially incoherent--and had the same thought as Columbusguy. Saying Repubs are making the Dems look a certain way was simply pretending an issue of substance was one of perception. Would Cohen do it in the other direction (the Dems paint the Repubs as weak on the environment, or education)?
I'll tell you what's soft on security: Failing to protect terrorist targets here at home (such as chemical plants and ports) while entering us into a war designed to prove how tough we are, and allowing it to reduce to chaos and prove how not all-powerful we are. No, we haven't been attacked at home since Sept. 11th. But the terrorists generally have had a long timeline.

Sorry- "soft" or "weak" are issues of perception.
