Tracey Morgan recently said he hated how Jimmy Fallon used to crack up on Saturday Night Live.
I'm with Morgan. I don't find it the slightest bit charming when allegedly professional actors laugh and break character. That Fallon, after a while, seemed to be doing it intentionally, made it that much worse.

It's funny that Morgan is the one of these two who has established a post-SNL career. Neither Fallon nor Morgan were favorites of mine on SNL - I especially despised the recurring "retarded nature show host" character Morgan had. Never cared for Fallon's songs. But Fallon seemed to be building the more legitimate acting credentials, what with appearances in movies and TV Series like Band of Brothers.
Fallon was seen as the new Adam Sandler. He even did an impression of him. We didn't really need another Adam Sandler. (Did we need the first one?) After a few starring roles, it looks like Fallon's movie career has stalled.
Morgan I wasn't a big fan of either. Brian Fellows was his most popular character (even made the recent top 100 SNL bits list), but I didn't get it. On the other hand, I liked Astronaut Jones.
I enjoy 30 Rock, though his character is the least important of the leads. I don't mind him on the show, but you could get rid of him and not do any damage.
I agree that objectively 30 Rock would be fine (just as funny) without Morgan. However, I suspect Morgan's character is a major part of the show's popularity across a number of demographic catagories. "Hip" young adults and teens are not tuning in for Alec Baldwin, I suspect.
