You Promised

I saw Stephen King's latest--Duma Key--in the bookstore yesterday. Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't he say he was gonna stop writing a few years ago?

King said he would stop writing in 2002 but has since revised that statement to say that while he doesn't write as much as he used to, when he does write something he feels is particularly good, then publishing it is "the final act of the creative process, publishing it so people can read it and you can get feedback and people can talk about it with each other and with you, the writer..."

On a personal level, I've been a fan of his for years and whenever he has promoted someone else's book (blurbed it, as he calls it)I pick it up without hesitation - I've never been disappointed in a book he recommended.

Hey, I thought you were vermontguy. Now you're sounding like MaineGuy. Quick, tell us more Howard Dean stories.

So King doesn't write as much as he used to? What's that mean--only two novels a year instead of one per season?
