A lot of people get so excited about a political race that they forget they're gonna be stuck with the guy for four years. I think we can all learn something from Mr. Spock.
All I'm saying is not that people will be happier if their guy loses, but that many are fooling themselves into believing how wonderful it'll be if their guy wins. And who knows, the experience of hating a guy who you didn't vote for (not to mention liking him) may actually be a lot more pleasant than the disillusionment of fighting for someone only to find he wasn't all you thought he was.

Very true -- but unfortunately, if we don't have what we want, in this case, we will have to have the other, and that will not be pleasing.
