LA is cold and rainy. Anywhere else that would be unpleasant, but here it's such a nice change of pace.

Loudon Wainwright has a song about that "Gray in LA" (the musical version of which was background in "Knocked Up")
Working in the other L-A (Lewiston-Auburn, ME, laugh but that's what we call it without hesitation), I've sort of adopted it for here (except for the lines about canyons and too much sunshine, it sorta works)
