For some reason, boring lyrics count as poetry if you throw in a line in an old Gaelic language.
"The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men gang aft agley." Everybody thinks that's brilliant. But what does it mean? I guess nobody cares.
Go find a hungover New Year's reveler today and ask him what "syne" means, and he will not only not know, he won't even remember singing the darn word.
