Great season premiere for
Lost. I've always loved the show, but now that they have so much to do with so many characters and so little time, it looks like every episode will zip along with great payoffs.
By the way, if you're not caught up on
Lost,
this will help.

The link at the end of your post is brilliant.
Before the premiere, I rewatched S4 without the flashforwards, then watched all the flashforwards in chronological order. (Which all put together are a couple of hours long -- the S4 DVDs have a feature that includes excerpts from them in chronological order, but to watch the whole thing you have to switch disks manually.)
The first time around, the FFs are usually tricks -- some character or twist is not immediately known. But having seen them before, I was struck by how many legitimate unknowns and unexplained things there are in them. (I'm not sure I should mention spoilers here.)
I wonder if at some point in the show they will have to do flash-BACKS to the time of the S4 flash-FORWARDS to fill in the gaps?
I think the producers keep planting enough things through the seasons meant to pay off later to show that they know where they're going. And yes, I'd guess they'll be needing some flashbacks to the time between when the island moved and three years later.
