Wrong on Both Counts
Reading LAGuy's post on Camille Paglia reminded me of something else Salon-related. Stephanie Zacharek is Salon's movie reviewer and I was struck by her "grades" for two of 2008's biggest movies:
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: A-
The Dark Knight: D+
It's hard for me to imagine anyone being more wrong about those two movies.

Man, you need to give a cite for that. Because that may be the least plausible thing I've ever seen on this blog.
Alas, my source is the year-ending double-issue print version of Entertainment Weekly, which didn't post it's final Critical Mass (in which they post how the critics and readers rated the top movies) online.
However, I can post links to Ms. Zacharek's reviews of these two movies, which will support my statement.
You can find them here and here.
Wow, just wow. The woman is a complete fool. I've always wondered how studio folks can delude themselves into releasing something that is obvious dreck, and give limited or no support to movies that are obviously brilliant. Well, here you go -- a window into that mindset.
