Most Exciting Super Bowl Ever?

It was a great game, but you all saw it, so there's no point in going over it play by play. Perhaps the other Guys will have more to add, but all I can say is I think the Steelers were lucky to pull it out. Sure, when they had to score, they did, but all those Cardinal penalties, and the 100 yard dash that ended the first half, were just as important.

As a Steeler fan, I would have preferred a laugher, but it was a pretty good game but for most of the game I simply assumed the Steelers would win (that late Fitzgerald touchdown seemed out of sync & by the time I processed, the guys had already fixed things and come back). Tend to think that the Pgh Defense stifled the Cardinals in the opening quarters (1st and 3d) and that Cardinals were able to adjust (2d and 4th quarters). The last minute interception at the end of the first half seemed to be a game changer but using the Posnerian analysis, if the acore ahd been 14-10 Cardinals (or 10-10) at the half instead of 17-7 Steelers, the teams would have come out with different game plans for 2d so its hard to say what would have happened.

I keep thinking the team of the 70s was more dominant but on reviewing the records, the Steelers' two victories of the Cowboys (SB X and XIII)were similar close-run 4 point affairs. One won on an interception in the end zone as time expired and the other due to the fact that Jackie Smith dropped a TD pass alone in the end zone causing the Cowboys to settle for field goal which turmned out to provide the margin of victory for the Steelers.

The current Steelers (since Roethlisberger)seem to have a strategy or running up the score and then hanging on to win (or trusting Ben to perform a come back if they can't) which can be frustrating to a fan. The aim of the game is to win not to run up points like college football, so even with close-run affairs, the key stat is who gets the trophy, if you'll pardon the coach-speak.

Great game. Aside from anything else, the turning point is the last play of the first half. The Cardinals are looking at a tie game or a four point lead and suddenly they're ten points down and the Boss is on the loudspeakers.

My thought as Harrison was running the interception back was This Can't Happen. If I'm a Cardinal, there's no way this guy takes it the length of the field. Hell, they should've emptied the bench to stop him. No F'ing Way he takes it to the house.

Don't care what the professionals say- the Castrol Grease Monkeys made the best ad- you never have too many chimps (even if they really aren't monkeys).

Doritos gets 2d nod for fun unacceptable behavior- i.e. magically putting a babe in her undies and turning a cop into a (true) monkey

No one is talking about the short commercial for Denny's where the mob boss is starting to discuss putting a hit on someone, then the waitress comes up and puts the whip cream smile on his Grand Slam pancakes! That was my favorite, yet its getting no love on the commercial review sites.

I think chimp and hit in the nuts commercials should be banned from future Super Bowls.

I hate Denny's, which made it tough to enjoy that one. Biggest laughs at the party I attended came for the Doritos commercial and the monster.com mounted moose trophy.
