Don't Drink The Water

I saw something new yesterday in a public restroom, and I must say I approve. A dual-flush toilet. Up for liquid waste, down for solid. I assume it's a water-saving device. (On the other hand, I still have a lot of trouble with low flow toilets that back up a lot.)

More-than-you-want-to-know Department:

In the waste management industry, solid waste doesn't mean what you described (and what most people think). It's all just "sewage". (you don't spend time on wastewater plant financing without learning a thing or two)

Maybe next time you should stick with the correct technical term: Number Two

I was just using the terms on the toilet itself, so don't blame me.

I wasn't blaming -just reminded of a meeting where a new development required a both a wastewater facility and solid waste facility to be built. I was new to this and confused and wondered aloud how the pipes knew which facility to send the waste to....

Apparently I was quite the joke at the next annual waste processors meeting.

I saw this for the first time when out on your coast last month, LAGuy. It was at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I'll confess I pushed them each in turn, just to check that there was no noticeable difference from the end user's (ahem) perspective.
