Political Speech From A Corporation
I was recently watching Road To Bali, the only "Road" picture in color. Hadn't seen it in years. At the end, Hope and Crosby are captured. In a ceremony designed to appease the gods, one will be the groom to Dorothy Lamour's bride. Doesn't sound so bad.
But the leader has designs on Lamour, so decides to secretly marry Hope and Crosby together. The high priest warns him a marriage with two grooms and no bride will offend the gods. Turns out he's right, and the climax features an exploding volcano.
This film should be adopted by the anti-same sex marriage crowd.

Such absurdity would have been gut-poundingly funny, right up until, when, 1990? Now it's a civil right, denial of which ranks right up there with the Holocaust.
-Clearly it doesn't rank up there with the holocaust- no state has enacted legislation banning Holocaust memory events or even mandating both sides of the Holocaust be taught.(Don't even think Jorg Haider tried that)
-There are lot of things that were gut poundingly funny which no longer seem so based on changing tastes. See use of the word "retard" which though originally a euphemism for moron etc... is now found offensive by almost everyone.
- While the joke in the Road movie was based on facts that are no longer so unbelievable, the swishy character is still an acceptable comedic foil in a way certain other ethnic and identity characteristics are not.
