Who's On First? I'm On First.

Christopher Hitchens is an ass except when he's not. Amidst all of the typical obit blithering over General Alexander Haig, he comes through with some of the best invective of his career here. His description of the deceased inlcude "homicidal buffoon," "megalomaniacal drivel," "neurotic narcissist" and "squalid life," but the best is "pig-nostriled and also piggy-eyed."

It makes me wonder what he'll write Henry Kissinger passes on.

I remember on an episode of Police Squad they're looking over some photos in a file, presumably of a homicide, and one of them says "I think I'm going to be sick" and it turns out it's a picture of Haig.

yeah that is why I overall don't like Hitchens (despite our agreement on a few issues) - ad hominem of a dead guy.

To be fair to Hitchens, he attacks them just as harshly when they're alive. It's just when they die he gets one more chance to stick the knives in.
