Stop The Drop

I'm looking forward to any answers they give us.
Normally, I feel that the broadcast episodes of a TV show are the only true canon. But these days, many shows -- Lost among them -- have put a great deal of emphasis on the DVD boxed sets. So I think that "answered questions" -- even if it's just Lindelof and Cuse talking to a camera -- on the final DVD set is fully canon, and fully welcome.
After all, when Poirot solves a mystery, and the villain is in handcuffs, the author might add a few paragraphs saying "The villain also explained the reason for the red truck on the bridge. As it happened, ..." etc. Tying up loose ends for the benefit of attentive readers is perfectly proper in a novel, and the writer has no obligation to put this exposition in the form of dialogue. So Lindelof/Cuse can freely do the same!
They might have tied things up better, but there was no way, I suppose, to answer absolutely everything, so I do look forward to as many answers as they can give. By the way, I'd already explained the drops to my own satisfaction, and I'm happy to say their explanation is pretty similar.
Now that I think of it, why would Hurley cancel the drops? Where's he gonna get his ranch dressing?
Good question. Does Hurley inherit all of Jacob's magical powers? Does that include the power to make food materialize whenever you are hungry? I don't remember a refrigerator in Jacob's cabin....
Hurley can go cook fish on a rock.
