SS

I was just on Hollywood Boulevard.  They got signs all over the place warning against Silly String.

Wow, a thousand bucks.  That's really gonna raise the black market Silly String I sell on the side-streets.  I don't see how I can let it go for under $100 a can.

Is this serious? Isn't silly string a trademark? I mean, if I had an off-brand of aerosol quick-drying foam, would it be legal? Is it constitutional to target a specific manufactured product to the detriment of its competitors? What if it said "fine for using Band Aids", leaving alone Curad bandages?

Maybe Silly String still owns the patent, or has a trade secret that allows them to monopolize the market.

But if you look closely, it's not really illegal, just "illegal", and there isn't really a fine, just "a fine" - visit the Blog of Unnecessary Quotation Marks for more of this bizarre habit...

So it's both silly and "silly."
