The internet is one of the freest places on earth. Apparently this really bothered three out of five FCC commissioners, so they voted themselves regulatory power to fix a problem that doesn't exist. What's scarier is two of those yesses were disappointed they didn't vote themselves more power.
Remind me again why we need the FCC?

That was some serious slight-of-hand. The big content providers know that the traditional web is past its peak, and the accelerating growth will be in mobile content, where they avoided regulation. An excellent trade-off from their POV.
A tradeoff for them, but it's still a case of the government grabbing power to take away our freedom. Are we supposed to be happy they did't grab even more?
Unless your name is Gates or Brin, it was not your freedom that was grabbed, anon.
Whoops, just noticed a typo. Sleight-of-hand.
You (LAGuy) seem to have fallen for the propaganda
Why should the FCC have any authority to regulate the internet, any more than it can regulate newspapers? The original excuse for the existence of the FCC decades ago was weak enough, but no longer applies at all.
