One Of The Singing Hitlers

It's Dick Shawn's birthday.  He died a comedian's death, collapsing onstage.  The audience thought it was part of the routine.

He did a bit of everything--stand-up, cabaret, Broadway, movies, TV--but I think his most memorable role was L.S.D. in The Producers.  It's the one major part that was cut in the Broadway musical--allegedly because it's dated, but maybe they realized down deep no one could replace him.
