No-Go Logo

When the London Olympics' logo debuted in 2007, this blog gave it a thumbs down.  Now Iran is threatening to boycott the Games because of it.  Their complaint isn't aesthetic. They see the word "Zion" in it.  That's enough for them to call it racist.  The authorities behind the logo are aghast at this misreading of what is supposed to be "2012."

It's an ugly and crackpot complaint, and I don't see the Olympics authorities wasting too much time with it.  The real question is why the world puts up with all the other ugly and crackpot anti-Israel statements that regularly come out of the Middle East.

Actually I can sort of see that "ZION".

Dan Brown needed a new book idea.

Is the world really putting up with Iran?

Actually I think it spells "Zoin" which might have been a sound effect used by Don Martin in the old MAD Magazine
