Commercial Art

Saw the latest Heineken commercial:

To my surprise, the song is "Jaan Pehechaan Ho," from the film Gumnaam (1965), and generally introduced to the west in Ghost World (2001).

I'm glad to hear it anywhere, though nothing can compare to the original. (The following includes the entire, rarely seen, scene.)

That was fun. I suppose I'm missing out on the spirit of the thing, but I think the original would have been just as fun at 3 minutes as 6.

On the other end of the spectrum, what commercial runs for 90 seconds?

Also, the original inspired a memory and two thoughts: The memory was that I've read in the last week or so in the blog ether that the penis is shaped to pull out competitors' sperm.

And the thoughts are, "Okay, what difference does it make?" meaning, of course, that it makes no difference, and "Nothing else matters."

This is Bollywood, so why do something in 3 minutes that could be done as well in 6 minutes. People expect a lot of entertainment for the price of admission.

They were playing "On The Street Where You Live" at the end.
