Precious

Chrissie is 60!  The Pretenders did it right (musically, anyway), and I was always gratified when punk or new wave, which radio experts called uncommercial, sold well. (Some punks thought it was a sign of selling out.  Who did they think they were, hippies?)

Here's the first song the Pretenders charted in America:

Here's a song that has become better known as Rush Limbaugh's bumper music.  Let's try to reclaim it.

What do you mean, reclaim? My man Rush is keeping them alive, baby.

I did not know that the addict expropriated a great song. Its a Pretender song with a Devo ethos. (I n Rolling Stone interview (before the one where they were compared by idiot Dave Marsh to a Nuremberg Rally), either Bob1 or Bob2 talked a lot about Ohio had turned into a big KMart parking lot)

Of course I always like Middle of the Road best (including the brief scene of the Fuzzy Snakes in the early MTV video)
