"You couldn’t have a starker contrast between the multiple layers of checks and balances [at ‘60 Minutes’] and a guy sitting in his living room in his pajamas writing.”
It's the day after Labor Day and I've read a whole bunch of columns on how Obama's reelection chances are looking bad. Could we just stop talking about this until the day after Labor Day, 2012?
First, we hired Obama to fix the economy, not to ensure we remained mired in permanent recession.
Second, unemployment at the beginning of 2009 was around 7%. By the end of the year it was around 10%. Obama even warned us we needed to pass the stimulus or unemployment might go over 8%.
Third, Obama's new levels of deficit spending make Bush look like a piker.
Fourth, Clinton understood as long as he didn't fuck up the economy, he could fuck as many interns as he liked. His poll numbers proved that. If, in the middle of committing perjury and obstructing justice, he'd also led us into a recession, he wouldn't have finished his second term.

Assuming he doesn't fuck an intern, he's masterfully set up the comeback narrative (the problem is he's been doing this for a couple years now)
No one cares if you fuck an intern. If you fuck up the economy, then they care.

Naw- fucking an intern is a lot easier to understand and condemn than the the economy, which involves math.
(So what part of the golden economy existing on January 19, 2009 did he fuck up?

Don't waste your breath, anon. To anon, anything and everything is Bush's fault, up to and including the upcoming global cooling crisis.
Fortunately, anon won't be deciding the election.
Most comments on a post in a month, or close to it, anyway. So, I guess the answer is, "I guess not."
