The Pitts

Interesting headline in the Hollywood Reporter: "Brad Pitt's Mother Pens Anti-Gay, Anti-Obama Letter to Local Newspaper"

The main point regarding gays in her letter is America shouldn't allow same-sex marriage.  So is that now officially considered anti-gay?  Maybe it should be, but it would mean a lot of Americans--likely more than half of all voters--are anti-gay (including Barack Obama until a little while ago).

Interestingly, Pitt's pro-Romney views were written in response to a letter from a Richard Stoecker in the same local paper stating that we should respect Christians who refuse to vote for Romney because of his Mormonism.  Now that sounds like some bigotry, though not the kind that would interest the Reporter since it's not from a celebrity's relative.

The piece goes on to note Brad Pitt's famous claim he wouldn't get married until everyone was allowed to. Some saw this as an excellent dodge, but it turns out he went back on his promise and will be marrying Angelina Jolie:  "The two nevertheless announced their engagement in April, after seven years and six children together."

I wonder what Richard Stoecker would say.
